They say every idea starts with a problem.
If finance is universally accepted as the language of business, why is it so difficult for entrepreneurs to master? How can 82% of businesses fail because of cash flow or poor planning? Where are the accountants? The answer. too many accountants are transaction focused. Meaning, too many of my friends and fellow entrepreneurs only see their accountant once a year... at tax time.
After spending years in Corporate America working various roles in finance, accounting, and logistics, I had finally reached a pivotal and crucial point in my career. I realized that there was more to life than work and salary. In short, the work just wasn't fulfilling for me and I wasn't satisfied. Then by chance, I had the opportunity to help a small business develop financial reporting systems to provide the data she needed to make decisions. This evolved into more strategic solutions to their evolving competitive landscape and a more active role in day to day business processes.
Needless to say, it didn't take long to figure out that, one, I loved working with people who cared and were passionate about their businesses. I feed off of this passion and the satisfaction of not only having a positive impact on the business, but also in creating value in someones life dwarfed anything I felt in the corporate world. And second, there was a huge gap in the market. Traditionally, a business has to reach a certain point before they gain access to the benefits of a finance team, and I don't think it has to be this way.
My mission is to provide the life blood of America, the entrepreneurs, the same finance and accounting support that only the large businesses can afford today, and for only a fraction of the investment.
